Online Ordering System
Online ordering takes guests from menu to confirmation and sends each order directly to restaurant staff or the kitchen.
A first-party online ordering system takes a customer from category and item selection to a clear order summary. The goal is fewer phone questions, fewer transcription mistakes, and direct restaurant control over the menu, hours and fulfilment options.
The problem it solves
The main risk begins after the customer presses order: the request must enter a real staff workflow, and the customer needs an honest confirmation state. We therefore map the kitchen and front-of-house process before designing the cart.
First-release scope
- Mobile menu with categories, variants, extras and a clear cart.
- Contact details, fulfilment choice and a final review before the order is sent.
- Admin controls for availability and content without rebuilding the public website.
What we define before launch
Before launch we define ordering hours, pickup or delivery rules, staff ownership and unavailable states. Payments and POS connections only go live after the complete lifecycle and failure handling have been tested on the correct accounts.
